Singapore sends $50,000 typhoon aid

The Government of Singapore will send humanitarian relief supplies worth $30,000 to the typhoon-hit Philippines.

The statement came from Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs this Monday, the government will also contribute $20,000 as seed money to kick-start the Singapore Red Cross's drive for donations for those affected by the disaster.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has sent a condolence letter to President Arroyo expressing heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the people and government of Singapore for the loss of life and destruction caused by Tropical Storm“Ondoy” (international name Ketsana).
